Have you ever heard of The Museum of English Rural Life? It’s a Twitter page that is known for posting pictures of people and the countryside. Its mission is to “explore the English countryside, its history, and its people.” If you have never checked out this page, you are seriously missing out on some great things. So go and check it now.
But if you are up-to-date with this page, there is something that you should know. For #NationalDogDay on August 26th, MERL has asked people to share the pictures of their dogs who are doing everything but what they were bred for.
You might know that each dog breed not just looks different but also has different purposes. For instance, a Bernese Mountain was bred to be a guard dog. A Labrador Retriever is a working dog who was bred to retrieve shot game, and Foxhound, well, to hunt foxes. But sometimes it seems like our furry friend can do everything except fulfilling their purpose. MERL has asked people to share the pictures of their dog who failed at what they were supposed to do and the response was amazing.
You can scroll down to check out the pictures that people have shared. These pictures are too adorable and the pooches are also too cute. But they are spending their days as couch potatoes.
