Netflix Mindhunter Season 2 release date finally officially announced

Mindhunter Season 2 is a show that a lot of people have been waiting for. Ever since the first season aired in October 2017, Netflix had promised that there is indeed going to be a second season – however, there was no official release date. Until today. It has now been confirmed that the second season of the show will release on the 16th of August on Netflix.

Mindhunter Season 2 Release Date Confirmed by  David Fincher

David Fincher, the producer of the show, confirmed it during a podcast interview on ‘The Treatment’ that the second season of Mindhunter will come out on the 16th of August.

As of this writing, Fincher has not given out any details about what the show will be about but at least we have a release date for Mindhunter Season 2 now. Talking of the plot, there have long been rumors that it is going to be based on the Atlanta Child Murders.

Season 2 To Focus on Atlanta Child Murders

The second season of Mindhunter is going to be set almost two years after the events of the first season. The show will focus on the Atlanta Child Murders of 1979-1981.

This is not a fan theory but was first floated by Fincher himself in 2017 when he told this to billboard during a 2017 interview. It will be interesting to see how Mindhunter Season 2 portrays these murders on the show. We’ll find out on 16th of August, till then, stay tuned!
