NBA: Kyle Korver to join Lakers, Bucks or 76ers in 2020

Kyle Korver is on the move again. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the veteran 38-year-old shooting guard will now line up for the Suns next season.

Lakers, Sixers, and Bucks reportedly interested in Kyle Korver

Kyle Korver was traded by the Grizzlies, who got De’Anthony Melton, Josh Jackson, and two second-round picks in return from the Suns. The Pheonix Suns also acquired a new guard in Jevon Carter.

The Grizzlies are trading Kyle Korver and Jevon Carter to the Suns for DeAnthony Melton, Josh Jackson 2020 second-round pick and 2021 conditional second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

However, it seems very unlikely that Korver will ever line up for the Suns. It seems that the Phoenix franchise expects to buy him out. Various teams around the league, namely the Bucks, 76ers, and the Lakers maintain interest in Korver when he becomes a free agent. This too was covered by Adrian Wojnarowski in an extensive report for the ESPN.

Suns are planning to buyout the partially guaranteed contract of Kyle Korver, league sources tell ESPN. Lakers, Sixers and Bucks are frontrunners to sign Korver once he clears waivers, sources said.

Back when Korver began his career in Philadelphia, he did line up alongside King James. He has had a steady career, the most impressive stat being his 42.9% knockdown of 3 point attempts throughout 16 years playing in the NBA.

As for the Bucks, they had an excellent 2017-18 NBA campaign- reaching the Eastern Conference finals with a 60-22 record.

Kyle Korver trade history in NBA

Korver was part of the deal that allowed the Jazz to acquire Mike Conley Jr., and he was sent the other way to the Grizzlies. He began the start of last season with the Cavaliers but then was later sent to Utah as a part of a trade deal in November.

Meanwhile, the players that the Grizzlies are receiving are interesting- particularly Josh Jackson. He was a no. 4 pick for the Suns in the 2017 draft. But ever since, his short career in the NBA has been rather inconsistent, plagued with off-court issues. His average is not too shabby at 12.3 points, but he has shot just 29.4% of those from behind the arc.
