A recent Tesla OS update has led to an unintended consequence. Some of the car company’s select models are facing performance issues due to a bug. For a company that has always placed the utmost importance on quality and efficiency, this is a major setback.
Tesla acknowledges its error
Tesla has issued a statement, acknowledging the performance bug and admitted that it has been caused by the Tesla OS update. The car manufacturer has stated that they’re in the process to restore full functionality as soon as possible. They have also apologized to all affected customers for any inconvenience caused.
How Tesla OS Update caused the problem?
Tesla’s P85D and P90D models recently received a paid software update. Following the update, many of the car owners complained that they were unable to use the ‘Ludicrous Mode’. This mode allows the cars to go from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than 3 seconds. However, the mode can only function when the ‘Launch Control’ and ‘Max Battery Power Mode’ settings are simultaneously activated. Because of a performance bug, though, these settings are no longer functional in the cars that received the Tesla OS update.

As soon as the solution is reached, they will push out a firmware update. However, they have not communicated when and how soon the said fix will be deployed.
Tesla’s track record on performance fixes has always been very impressive. Elon Musk, Tesla’s enigmatic CEO has, in fact, built the brand on the promise of quality of its products. This gives the car owners hope that Musk and his team will deliver the software fix very soon.
