As Game of Thrones is wrapping up its final season with only 4 episodes left in its pocket, fans are now speculating about what could be in store for the show. HBO has been in talks about Game of Thrones spin-off with George RR Martin and some Game of Thrones writers.

Game of Thrones Spin-Off: Cogman’s show scraped off
However, it is certain that at least one of them has been scraped off. Bryan Cogman revealed that he will not be writing a show after all. He is the writer of the second episode of the final season, titled “A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms”,
He stated that he is definitely leaving. he also said,
“I was developing one of the successors shows with George. George has worked with a bunch of writers, including Jane, whose show is being done.”
Cogman said that he is now looking forward to using the experience and the knowledge he gained with Game of Thrones on his other projects. He will now be working with Amazon and he has several shows lined up with them.
Revealing that his departure from the show is bittersweet, he added,
I’ll certainly miss it, but I’m excited to go out on my own and try to be in the captain’s chair of my own projects, armed with everything I’ve learned. I’ve learned more than I could possibly imagine from eight seasons of this thing.
HBO is proceeding which Game of Thrones spin-off is titled The Long Night. Written by Jane Goldman, the show will star Naomi Watts, John Simm, and Miranda Richardson. The plot of the show will be set long before the arrival of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen in Westeros.
HBO staff talks about spin-offs
HBO overseer Bob Greenblatt spoke about the spin-offs. He said,
It’s a double-edged sword. The answer is yes, we’re having conversations about how do we smartly continue the Game of Thrones universe, but we have to be really thoughtful about not killing the golden goose and not putting on shows that aren’t up to that quality level, and how many is too many.”
