The Witcher Season 2 comes in a New Format, Netflix working on ‘Nightmare of the Wolf’ Movie

The Witcher Season 2 has been renewed and filming will start next month but it might appear in a new format soon. Netflix is apparently working on an animated movie titled ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’ which will act as a follow-up spin-off to Henry Cavill starer fantasy drama.

Tomek Bagiński, the executive producer of The Witcher has teased that fans will get to see more of the amazing world before season 2 comes out. Here are more details on The Witcher animated spinoff and how it could lead us to ‘The Witcher Season 2’ along with new casting updates.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is being written by Beau DeMayo who also wrote the first episode, ‘Betrayer Moon’ of the show. Bagiński has teased fans that there are more surprises to come before the second season of Witcher arrives. It is also rumored that the animated series will focus on other characters and explore more of the fantasy world.

But there we cameos from the main characters including Geralt of Rivia, Ciri and Yennefer as minor characters. Henry Cavill has supposedly recorded his lines for The Witcher movie as per some theories and it could release this Summer on Netflix along with other projects expanding the franchise.

The Witcher Season 2 casting calls are in full force as the show will start filming in February and Henry Cavill is already prepping for his role. Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri) are also said to reprise their roles along with several new actors roped in for undisclosed roles.

It is rumored that Kristofer Hivju famous for playing Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones has joined the cast of ‘The Witcher Season 2’ and will play an important part in the story. Along with that, Mark Hamill has already been in touch and the show creators want him to play Vesemir who acts as a father figure to Geralt. The Witcher Season 2 will release in December 2020 or early 2021 on Netflix.
