Alita Battle Angel 2 release date to be Fast Tracked after Petition for Sequel demands Heats up

Alita: Battle Angel 2 release date is something every fan of the movie wants to know but unfortunately there is no update. However, the petition on change.org demanding a sequel to Alita movie is getting a lot of traction on the internet and it could possibly influence the makers to fast track the production.

Disney-Fox merger and the business aspects related to it are the main reasons why Alita Battle Angel 2 is taking so long as per the lead actress Rosa Salazar. Now that the number of signatures on Alita sequel petition has crossed the count of 130,000, Alita: Battle Angel 2 release date might be shifted earlier.

Alita: Battle Angel Sequel Release Date to be Shifted by Petitions?

Alita sequel has not been ordered yet as the producers thought that the movie was not a commercial success. However, fans who have watched the first Alita: Battle Angel on home and digital media believe that people had no idea about it due to poor marketing. It is why they started an online petition to show their support and asked for a sequel, telling the makers that people will see the sequel in theaters if it is made.

The number of signatures are increasing rapidly ever since the last few days and it will soon cross 150,000. While online petition can’t force the producers, they are just a way to raise the public voice, sending out a message to Disney that we need the sequel to Alita: Battle Angel. As of this writing, the number of signatures are 134,851 and increasing, which is enough for the makers to start working on Alita: Battle Angel 2 sequel.

Alita: Battle Angel 2 Production Design: Change in looks of Alita?

Alita: Battle Angel sequel will take a few years even if they start production today and fans are wondering whether producer James Cameron and director Robert Rodriguez would change the looks of Alita to please the fanbase. Many moviegoers complained about Alita’s (Rosa Salazar) eyes in the first movie saying they were drawn too big.

But the visual effects supervisor Eric Saindon said that Cameron and Rodriguez don’t care about the haters and they always wanted to bigger on the eyes, closely resembling the original manga series.
