Avatar 2 Release Date, Title and More Details Emerge: What to Expect from James Cameron’s Latest Movie?

When the first Avatar movie came out in 2009, it was one of the biggest hits of all times and a jaw-dropping success. Fans across the world loved it and have ever since waited for a sequel! Interestingly, they’re going to get four of them – the first one (Avatar 2) to come out in December 2021! Over the past few years, more details have emerged about this very ambitious project from James Cameron.

Avatar 2 Release Date and Working Title

The working title of the second movie in the Avatar franchise is ‘Coral’. This is most likely a reference to the Metkayina, which is expected to play a big part in the upcoming sequels. Based on what we’ve learned so far, the principal photography and performance capturing for Avatar 2 as well as Avatar 3 are done and live-action filming will begin later this year.

For now, the tentative release date is December 17, 2021. However, this date can shift a little based on how the live-action shoot goes. Cameron has all the release dates of all the sequels planned out until 2027!

Cameron is a master storyteller and he will ensure that after over a decade of being away, the next generation of Avatar movies more than makeup for the lost time.
