UFC Newark: Is Colby Covington teasing a WWE Debut?

Colby Covington vs Robbie Lawler was a match that many people were looking forward to! While Lawler has been one of the most popular old-timers out there, Covington was clearly the favorite to win and he managed to defeat Lawler with relative ease. Interestingly, however, Covington entered to Kurt Angle’s theme music where the crowd began to chant ‘You Suck’ at him.

This leads us to believe that this is a teaser that Colby Covington might soon be planning to leave UFC for WWE and will possibly face off against Kurt Angle there!

Colby Covington vs Robbie Lawler Had Two WWE Tributes

The match between Covington vs Lawler featured two WWE tributes! While the first one was very obvious where Kurt Angle’s theme music was used and Covington came out along with the American flag while the crowd started chanting ‘You Suck’ at him, the other was a subtle tribute by Robbie Lawler.

Lawler has been using Johnny Cash’s ‘Aint No Grave Can Hold Me Down’ as his theme music for quite a while now. Interestingly, this music was once used by The Undertaker to make his WrestleMania entrance.

While Kurt Angle has announced his full-time retirement from wrestling, it looks like he might just appear for one more match against Colby Covington which would be more of a UFC/MMA style hard-hitting match rather than the technical style that Angle is known for. He might even become Covington’s first ‘victim’ in the company.
