As of this writing, the betting odds do support Khabib Nurmagomedov winning easily. However, Poirier’s supporters are also rallying behind him and believe he has what it takes to stop the Russian. Khabib’s winning streak currently stands at 27-0 – the biggest undefeated streak in MMA – could Poirier finally be the guy to beat it at Khabib vs Poirier at UFC 242?

Poirier has recently fought (and won against) the likes of Holloway, Alvarez, Gaethje, and Pettis. He has went head to head with the best names in the lightweight division and has emerged stronger with every fight. Currently the interim lightweight champion, will he be able to defeat Khabib at UFC 242 and unify the belts?

What’s Next After Khabib vs Poirier?

A win for Khabib might just mean Khabib vs McGregor II. However, if Poirier manages to defeat Khabib, it would be interesting to see if it is indeed him who Conor McGregor decides to chase! McGregor can’t keep himself away from the title scene and it will be interesting to see how these men proceed from here on.
