‘Is Verizon Down’ is a question a lot of users of the largest carrier in the US are asking each other. The network of ‘Big Red’ hasn’t been working properly for the past few hours and a number of people have been complaining about it on social media and on various other forums and platforms.

Why Is Verizon Down?
As of this writing, there has been no clear reason as to why the US cellular giant is down. However, users of Verizon Wireless suspect that this is because of an excessive load on the network which has caused this breakdown in the service. The company has acknowledged the situation and is working towards fixing it. Here’s an official statement from Verizon Wireless:

“We are currently experiencing a network issue impacting wireless service for some customers in the Upper Midwest including the Rockford, IL, and Davenport, IA, metro areas. Our engineers and technicians have identified the hardware issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. Affected customers can still make and receive calls by enabling wifi calling on their devices.”

A number of people are wondering as to when Verizon Wireless services will be back up and running again. As of this time, there is no reply to that but given how big the scale of the problem is, we are sure that Verizon has got their best minds working to fix this and the service should be back up and running in a few hours.
