Houston Rockets are now in the race of NBA title contenders after their latest late free agency deal. Russel Westbrook from Oklahoma City Thunder was traded in and the Rockets can’t keep calm over it. The reason being the reunion of James Harden and Westbrook after so many years. The duo is already looking solid and is much better than other pairings in NBA as they have a lot of experience in playing together.
The Rockets have a clear shot at the next NBA trophy if they manage to get another talented name in their squad. Harden and Westbrook have won the MVP titles in the last two years and a third star could make things easy for them. Here are the possible trade deals of Rockets with Iman Shumpert, Thabo Sefolosha and Vince Carter.
Iman Shumpert
The Rockets have no good shooting guard except James Harden and they need to fill that position soon. Iman Shumpert who played for the Rockets last year could be a decent candidate to fill in the defensive role. He had an average of 4.6 points, 1.1 three-pointers, 2.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.6 steals during his play in Rockets. The best part is that everyone in Rockets has bonded with Shumpert and he would gladly accept an offer even below his last salary of $11 million.
Something the Rockets could actually do in free agency:
-Split the MLE between Rivers and Bullock
– Re-sign House with non bird rights in
– Sign Thomas Bryant for the minimum
– Sign Iman Shumpert for 13-15M so he could be used as a salary matcher in a mid season trade— Play Gary Clark (NBA (@Itamar1710) June 27, 2019
Thabo Sefolosha
Thabo Sefolosha is another good defender who has proven his worth in NBA many times. The 6-foot 7-inch guard has a lot of experience at 35 years of age. Even though Sefolosha was injured most of the time in his last two seasons at Utah Jazz, he had been a part of All-Defensive NBA teams several times. In the last three years, Sefolosha had an average of 6.3 points, 0.7 three-pointers, 3.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.3 steals, which is good enough for the Rockets.
Scott Brooks deserved to get fired off of the fact he thought Thabo Sefolosha was a starter over James Harden.

Vince Carter
Vince Carter at 42 years will be playing his 22nd NBA season. The best part about Carter is that he had previously played along with Harden and Westbrook in the team of Oklahoma City Thunder. It would also mean an emotional sendoff to Carter while he can also provide good backup to the team. During his last season with Atlanta Hawks, he had an average of 7.4 points, 1.6 three-pointers, 2.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks. Carter is an eight times All-Star member and would not cost much to the Rockets.
This guy again. I've been warning you about him for years. I remember when he basically whined a few years ago about Vince Carter not giving him an interview.
