NBA news: Kevin Durant Insulted by the Golden State Warriors?

Kevin Durant leaving the Golden State Warriors, was one of the most shocking deals in the NBA free agency 2019. While there are many reasons behind Durant moving on from the Warriors, the aftereffects are now coming to light. Durant was an integral part of the Warriors squad and him leaving have kind of made the team a bit lifeless.

The Warriors made to the NBA finals for five consecutive times, yet they are not in the contender’s race for the next title. It has made the Dubs management angry, and the frustration is poured out on the remains of Kevin Durant. The Jersey No. 35 of Durant has been retired from the Warriors team, and no player can have that number. Are the Golden State Warrior trying to insult Durant or it is just a regular thing?

Warriors have retired Durant’s Jersey

While Kevin Durant has moved on to the Brooklyn Nets and is on the road to recovery, the same can’t be said for the Warriors team. DeAndre Jordan and DeMarcus Cousins have also left the Dubs team, and now they are hopeless for the next season.

Joe Lacob, the majority owner of the Warriors, has declared that no other player in their team would wear the No. 35 jersey again. As long as Lacob is the chairman of Golden State Warriors, he won’t let anyone get the special number. One thing is not clear, whether it was meant as an honor to Durant or an insult!

Honor or Insult

Even though the Warriors officials have said great things about Durant after he left the team, the truth might be different. It is an obvious thing then no one will say foul things on camera about Kevin Durant or any other players.

Stephen Curry came from Shanghai to meet Durant when he gets to know about him leaving the Warriors. While it can’t be exactly said that the jersey removal is an honor or insult, the Warriors will miss Durant in the next NBA season for sure.
