Amazon is now coming up with a new Jack Reacher TV series based on the popular novels by Lee Child. The plan is to set up a big franchise and have multiple seasons over the upcoming years. Nick Santora, the man who behind the creation of popular show ‘Scorpion’ is hemmed the responsibility of the Jack Reacher show.

There was a bid open to adapt the books and Amazon Prime Video landed the spot. Jack Reacher is the story of a retired veteran who lives a secluded life but is forced to come out and uses his skills to help others.

Jack Reacher: Movie vs TV Series
Jack Reacher books have been earlier adapted into movies where Tom Cruise was playing the titular role. There was also a sequel named Jack Reacher: Never Go Back released in the year 2016.
Even though the movies did good, they did not make another sequel as Tom Cruise was busy with the Mission Impossible movies and it felt kind of same.

Skydance Television and Paramount Television will act as a co-producer and they also produced the two movies. Christopher McQuarrie who wrote the first movie will also supervise the project along with Nick Santora and Lee Child will act as a consultant.
Jack Reacher TV series won’t be related to the movies and will be a total reboot. They are currently looking for cast members and someone who can replace Tom Cruise for the main role.
Prime Video has lots of New Shows
Amazon is spending lavishly on the upcoming TV series to stay relevant in the market. Netflix and Disney+ have some great shows coming up and Prime Video is coming up with its own. Jack Ryan Season 2 is coming soon on Amazon Prime Video and they are already working on the third season.
The Lord of the Rings TV series is also in production and it has a budget north of $1 billion. There is also a Wheel of Time series starring Rosamund Pike in the works at Amazon. Along with that, there are also shows such as The Boys, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Expanse, Hanna, etc in the Prime Video library.
