Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 112 Review – Chunin exams results revealed

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations episode 112 follows up on its side story arc with a second show clip. Even though quite some time has passed since the Chunin exams, Shikamaru and Naruto were deciding as to which genin should be promoted.

Who was promoted to a chunin in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations?

They were still abiding by the rule that only one genin can be promoted to a chunin. So, they were working together and recapping whatever happened in the chunin exams. Since Boruto cheated, Naruto was not even considering to promote him to a genin. But, both Naruto and Shikamaru seemed to favor Boruto’s teammate, Sarada.

But, Sasuke showed up to discuss his findings on Urashiki. So, the topic changed to the incident of Fabrication. So, they discussed how Shikadai’s conduct was really good throughout the mission. And, they conclude that he will get promoted.

Why was the show clip not important?

So, Shikadai getting promoted will be a major influence on future events. But, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations did not have to show this promotion with a show clip. And honestly, it was a boring one. They were discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the genins and it wasn’t too interesting. And also their constant recapping made it even hard to follow. And what was the logic behind promoting only one genin?

The Chunin exams were a disaster because of the Otsutsuki assault and also Boruto cheated. So, why did they have to promote anyone? The promotion of only one genin applies to only those exams which have received some external interference. So, why did many genins already receive the promotions? Apart from the interference, the proctors had called off the final phase and hence the exams were incomplete.

Was the promotion fair?

So, Shikadai, who’s his father’s clone, getting a promotion feels repetitive and unsatisfactory. So, by using the logic to promote Shikadai, they can also promote Team 7 members too. Because even they have been on several high-level missions.

So, it might not be good to skip episode 112 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations because one of the chunins was promoted. And this is a major development. Also, Shikadai is a chunin now and this will affect future events.
