A move away for Aubameyang?
Arsenal fans are now worried about their two main star strikers. The latest source of that worry is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Instagram account bio, which has been wiped of any mention of Arsenal football club.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was, of course, the Golden Boot winner this season with 22 goals, sharing the accolade with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. But it seems his Arsenal future is in doubt.
Reports indicate that the Gabonese international has received a substantial offer from China, with wages over £300,000 a week. Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou Evergrande are the two clubs reported to be interested in him. Aubameyang’s current deal is worth only £190,000 a week, so the lure of earning one last payday is a big one for the striker.
Aubameyang’s Instagram provides the hint
Aubameyang has a massive following on Instagram, with 8.4 million followers. Not only did he remove any mention of Arsenal from the bio, he also deleted his profile photo which had him in an Arsenal kit.
Many fans believe that this is not an indication of the player’s interests lie elsewhere, but something far more straightforward. They believe that these moves are to do with Arsenal’s 2019-20 kit launch.
Anyway, Arsenal is looking to offer the explosive forward with a new 3-year deal to ward off any interest from abroad. The Gunners intend to keep their Golden Boot winner.
