Season 2 announced
Pure season 2 will start airing on WGN America on May 28. Hardcore fans were disappointed when the show was not picked up for the second installment initially. But they were relieved to hear Hulu and Super Channel bring it back and announce the return in April last year.
The show will be aired weekly in the USA and Canada. There is no news about when the second season will be aired in the UK.
Pure will return with the same star cast. Ryan Robbins will be playing pastor Noah Funk, and Alex Paxton-Beesley will play his wife. Other actors who will also be returning are Victor Gomez as Hector Estrada and Zoie Palmer as Valerie Krochak.
What is the plot?
In the first installment, we saw Noah Funk trying to get rid of drug trafficking from his community. The season two will start with a vicious clash between the drug cartel and the pastor’s family.
A trailer for season 2 was also released recently which showed us a glimpse of what lies ahead. We saw how Anne Funk is dealing with the circumstances a year after she was exiled. In the teaser, she can be heard saying, “It has been a year since we were ex-communicated, we’ll be homeless soon. But I will make sure our children survive.”
Catch season 2 of Pure on WGN America.
