It is important to notice here that no matter what a player or team wants, the ultimate decision depends on the money. If a team have enough money in their cap space, a deal can be done without any trouble. Here are the top teams in terms of cap space money limit and how it will affect the free agency deals.
New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are currently at the top with around $69.8 million in their cap space. The Knicks could free up some more of the cap space if they let some of the players go away in the free agency. Frank Ntilikina is one of such players which is rumored to be traded away by the Knicks to get more money. The Knicks are currently eyeing for Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard from the free agency.
Brooklyn Nets
On the other hand, the Brooklyn Nets are in second place with $68.6 million in their cap space. The Brooklyn Nets are planning to let D’Angelo Russel walk away as a free agent to get some more money. As for the free agents, the Nets will most likely sign Kyrie Irving from the Boston Celtics in a blockbuster deal.
