Halo Infinite is expected to debut with Microsoft’s next-gen console which is the Xbox 2 or Project Scarlett.

The newest Halo game will be based on the new Slipspace engine. The game’s website claims this next Halo entry will commence the Halo franchise “into new and unexpected directions.”

Halo Infinite is taunted as a “spiritual reboot” by the developer 343 Industries. The developer also explained the long gap between the previous and the latest Halo installment.

Part of why there’s been that span of time between Halo 5 and Infinite is the retooling of the infrastructure to give us the flexibility to do whatever we wanted with that game. But it’s also about setting off the next generation of Halo. We want people to be able to come into Halo Infinite who may not have played any other Halo game before.

People are also excited about the new game because a bunch of old folks associated with the franchise for a long time is coming together for the next game. Marty O’Donnell, Joseph Staten, and Jen Taylor are all tangled with the creation of the next Halo.

Nothing concrete is available concerning the next Halo game, but we suspect the waiting time to be of round about three years from now.
