When will Black Mirror season 6 release?
However, predicting the release date of the show is not easy yet. The previous premiere dates are all over the map making it difficult to make any predictions regarding the release date of Season 6. The show’s storyline and release date are both unpredictable at the moment. The show has always brought forward the dangers as well as the benefits of technology.
That being said, for what it is worth, Black Mirror season 4 got released back in December 2017 whereas the season 5 didn’t see the light of the day until June 2019. In other words, if Netflix follows the same timeline, season 6 wouldn’t be released for at least one a half years now.
Season 5 of the show was delayed as the creator was busy in the production of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. In an interview, Brooker said that all the episodes are a part of shared reality and they all are connected. He said,
We always used to say it’s [connected] to a shared universe but then I started to say it’s a psychologically shared universe. Now, some of the episodes are definitely connected because there’s specific references within that story to things we’ve seen in other episodes.”
The future seasons have lots of opportunities so the show is not going to slow down anytime soon. Star Trek parody from Season 4’s episode “U.S.S. Callister” is expected to get a potential spinoff as well. Director Toby said that he would love to work with the characters again.
