Asus recently unveiled their 2019 flagship, the Zenfone 6 and just before they could bring their newest device to the Indian market they were faced with an unanticipated issue.

The Taiwanese company was ordered by the Delhi High Court to drop the use of ZenFone or Zen from its brand as the company was infringing on an existing trademark.
The objection was registered by Telecare Network, a regional smartphone maker who sold phones under the Zen Mobile moniker. The local company trademarked Zen branding in 2008. Telecare Network also stated that Asus with the use of Zen they “ride upon its goodwill”.
The Indian Court had to say the following on the case
The triple identity test is satisfied as the defendants have made use of a deceptively similar/identical trademark(ZENFONE) in relation to identical goods (mobile phones) having identical trade channels…the defendants having adopted a deceptively similar mark wherein the dominant part of the defendant’s mark ZENFONE is the plaintiff’s mark ZEN, for the same product i.e. mobile phones, shows prima facie that there is a likelihood of confusion and damage to the plaintiff’s goodwill.
As of all these Asus will now launch the Zenfone 6 as Asus 6Z in the Indian market.
ASUS India website still uses Zenfone moniker but that could change soon.
The newest ASUS flagship will hit the Indian Shores on June 19.
ASUS 6Z/ZENFONE 6: SPEC-SHEET
As far as specs are concerned, the Zenfone 6 features a 6.46inch Full HD LCD display. the screen comes with no-notch but instead uses with a flip mechanism that holds the camera.
The device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 12 Gigs of RAM.
As mentioned earlier, the 6Z comes with a rotating camera which holds a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. The flip camera system will close itself automatically if you drop the device.
The device packs a hefty 5,000mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.0.
