Veep has been a fan favourite for seven seasons running. However, Veep Season 8 looks unlikely. HBO is not looking to renew the show and the last episode of the seventh season was the series finale.
There will be no Veep Season 8
Despite positive reception from fans and critics alike, Veep Season 8 is not going to make a comeback. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays Selina Meyer on the show, confirmed the news.
Talking to reporters, she expressed that the show’s story had run its course. The writers are tying up any loose ends with the series finale. She insisted the decision had nothing to do with ratings and they did not wish to prolong the show.
Other cast members, including Tony Hale, Sarah Sutherland, and Sam Richardson, concurred with the sentiment. While they were open to a Veep Season 8, they didn’t want to exhaust the show’s welcome. They seemed satisfied by the writers’ conclusion to the story.

Reaction by HBO
HBO confirmed that they did not cancel the series rather, it was a voluntary decision on the show’s producers and principal cast’s part. Casey Bloys, HBO’s Programming President, told reporters that the show was ending on its terms.
He lauded the series’ extraordinary critical run and thanked the cast and producers for bringing the series to a satisfying conclusion.
Acclaimed Political Satire
Veep is a political satire that takes a humorous look at the American political system through the eyes of an ensemble cast led by Louis-Dreyfus. Other notable members of the cast included Anna Chlumsky, Gary Cole, Tony Hale, Matt Walsh, and Hugh Laurie.
The series received widespread critical acclaim and won several awards. Julia Louis-Dreyfus herself won six consecutive Emmy awards, as well as five Golden Globe nominations for Veep.
