With the release of Avengers: Endgame more than a week ago, several of the MCU’s journey with the franchise has ended. Nevertheless, fans will be delighted to know the studio has planned several movies to be released in the upcoming years. They are calling it the 4th face of Marvel Cinematic Universe for the time being.
He made it clear in an earlier interview that he thinks that Endgame showed the last of his presence within the universe, a new rumour has been afloat that Marvel is indeed planning for another film featuring the Asgard-ian God of Thunder.
Thompson hints at return of Thor
Tessa Thompon, who played Valkyrie in Thor Ragnarok said that she has, in fact, heard that a fourth film is in the pipeline. She said,
“I heard that a pitch has happened for [another film]. I don’t know how real that intel is, but I hear that the pitch has happened, I think the idea is Taiki [Waititi] would come back.”
Chris Hemsworth has also said that he would like to keep playing Thor as long as would be allowed to.
Chris Hemsworth expresses his thoughts
“I’d play this character for as long as anyone would let me, I’ve loved it so much. But the combination of this many characters in this Phase Three, as Marvel calls it, you’ll never have this interaction with this many people again. Who knows what the future holds and whether they do prequels and sequels or whatever, I’d be open to anything. But right now, this is where we finish up.”
The final few moments also showed that Thor may be ready for another adventure. He ended up handing over the leadership of the Asgardians to Valkyrie. Following this, he joined forces with Quill and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy crew.
So it is quite possible that Thor will return, but there has been no official announcement yet.
