Shrek 5 release date: When does the sequel come out?

Shrek is returning with a reboot of the entire series with Shrek 5. You must have already heard about it. If not, then here is all that you need to know about Shrek’s revival.

When will Shrek 5 release date happen?

After the acquisition of DreamWorks Animation by NBC universe, various new plans were made. A Shrek movie was among those plans. Steve Burke, CEO of NBC Universal has said that the department of animated movies will be handled by Chris Melendandri.

Currently, the movie is still in making and will release soon. Shrek 5 is expected to release this year itself. The fans will have to be a little patient to see Shrek back on screen again. The previous movies came out in 2001, 2004, 2007 and 2010 respectively.

Shrek 5 is expected to release after Summers this year as the creators don’t want to rush the release of the movie. If there was a plan for the spring release, then we would have surely be informed about it earlier.

Many are not aware that the movie was under works since 2016. Eddie Murphy also confirmed that the script was ready to back in September 2016. He mentioned that the movie will release any time in 2019 or 2020. There were no official confirmations made. So we have to wait for that a little more.
