Fans of Shrek movie will be delighted to know that the fifth installment of the franchise is already confirmed and will be taken over by the new management of Comcast NBC Universal. The company is releasing its first animated film in the form of the beloved series’ 5th film, Shrek 5.

New writer hired
Shrek 5 will also be written by new writers in the hope that fresh ideas can be incorporated. According to recent reports, Michael McCullers, who also wrote Austin Powers, will be working on the screenplay and the story of Shrek 5.
Mike Mitchell, who was one of the directors of the second installment, said that he is very excited about Michael joining the Shrek 5 movie and is expecting that it will result in a good turnover from the film.
He said, “He came up with a really great idea that they’re exploring. With this detail, the viewers will see a different story that may be filled with twists and other explosive plots.”
Will resonate with youngsters
Universal has also added that the film will have an updated storyline that will resonate with the youngsters of today. Reportedly, they will be able to relate to many things happening in the film.
Regarding the voice actors, Chris Meledandri, the creator of “Shrek 5” further added,
“When you look back on those vocal performances they’re awesome, and while you certainly could make a case for a complete reinvention, I find myself responding to my own nostalgic feelings of wanting to go back to those characterizations.”
So far, an official release date has not been announced as the film is still under production. Fans are hoping that the Shrek 5 will arrive in cinemas later this year.
