Respawn bans thousands of Apex Legends hackers for cheating

Apex Legends, the latest entry in the battle royale genre has been a hit for the Respawn Entertainment.

However, the developers of the game Respawn Entertainment has a lot to do to improve the gameplay experience in Apex Legends.

In a recent post on Reddit, the developers of Apex Legends announced that around 770,000 players have been banned for using the cheats and hacks in Apex Legends.

The ban hammer has also struck on the 4,000 cheat selling accounts. The cheat selling accounts are called spammers.

Drew McCoy the executive producer also told that they have blocked more than 300,000 account registrations.

Why Apex Legends is an Easy target for cheaters?

Apex Legends is a free-to-play game which means that it can be downloaded and played without any cost. The players only have to register their email accounts.

Since new email accounts can be created easily the ban generally does not cost much to the cheater if they haven’t any money in in-game purchases.

So if a cheater gets caught they create a new account and start cheating again.

What is Respawn doing to stop the cheats for Apex Legends?

Respawn made a statement that they will continue to fight the cheaters and be very vigilant about them.

The developer said that it is working closely with EA security, Easy-Anti Cheat, Fraud Department, the team at Origins, studios including DICE, Capital Games and FIFA to stop the cheaters.

The executive producer wrote in his post that Easy Anti-Cheat has helped in finding undetectable cheats automatically in the past.

The interesting thing is that Easy Anti-Cheat is also being used in Fortnite another competitor of Apex Legends.

Respawn stated that even though new game modes are in development priority will be given to the bugs, cheating issues. The developer stated that they are working hard to improve the game and make it a title worthy of esports.
