2019 is almost halfway through and there is still no news of ‘Overload’ season 4. Here’s all you need to know why we haven’t heard about Season 4 yet.
The studio is facing some issue regarding its source material. Author Kugane Maruyama has not released Volume 14 and there are no whereabouts about its release date as well. He is currently working on another unnamed project as well. All we know is that it will release later this year
Overlord season 4 release date hangs on the fate of Manga
Volume 15 is expected to release next year. This is seen as trouble for the fourth installment of ‘Overload’. The show creators usually cover three volumes in one season. But volume 12 and 13 are related, which is creating an issue for the makers. They have an option of leaving the upcoming season with a cliffhanger.

But this won’t make the fans happy. We know that another series would take a few years and the fans would be frustrated with all the suspense by then. Madhouse could have included Volume 13 as well. But they won’t be able to manage coming four volumes in thirteen episodes.
Volume 12 and 13 are massive and thirteen episodes won’t do any justice to them. In the worst case, the Overlord season 4 may release in 2021 after volume 15 comes out. The creators can then compile volume 10 to 15 in twenty-six episodes.
It all depends on author Kugane Maruyama now. Only if volume 15 releases next year, we can bank upon the idea of an Overlord season 4. The fans can only hope that Maruyama continues with this pattern.
