North Korea: Multiple missile launch threatens peace on Korean Peninsula

North Korea recently fired an “unidentified projectile” which has led to many people stating it the beginning of World War 3. The military chiefs of South Korea reported that Kim Jong-un’s hermit fired an unidentified projectile on Thursday.

According to the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the projectile was fired from northwest of Sino-ri towards east. This is particularly about 4:30 pm (7:30 GMT).

North Korea previously tested and launched a number of rockets including one short-range missile from the east coast into the ocean. But this led to a tension in the Korean peninsula during a stalemate in talks between Washington and Pyongyang.

Is the threat for real?

On Wednesday, the Hermit State rejected claims of an act of provocation and lashed out at South Korea and the United States. They stated that the strike drill was self-defensive and regular.  A peace talk was called for between South and North Korea along with the United States.

Some sources said that the site of the Rodong missile on the west coast is the area where the projectile was launched. The Saturday short-range missile launch believed to be the first ballistic missile test of the country since its intercontinental ballistic launch in November 2017.

Kim already declared that their nuclear force was complete back then. He once more held two summit meetings with the US President and South Korean leaders.  But the tensions improved as no nuclear or missile tests were carried out.

At the end of February, a meeting was called between Kim Jong-un and President Trump. However, it was collapsed as the US was not ready to lift sanctions. North Korea wanted the removal of sanctions in exchange for dismantling some facilities and putting nuclear and missile tests on hold.

Kim recently visited President Vladimir Putin of Russia to break the nuclear deadlock led to the latest escalation.
