Samsung Galaxy Watch Active has some of the best set of features in the current smartwatch segments.
Interestingly, those who own the older generation of the Samsung Galaxy Watch do not need to upgrade to get these features.

Samsung has announced that they will roll out an update that will bring most of the features of Galaxy Watch Active to other smartwatches of the company.
Before we dive into the update, let’s take a look at what is the major difference between the Galaxy Watch Active and older Galaxy Watch.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active compared to older Galaxy Watch
The newer Galaxy Watch Active is a compact device which sports a 1.1-inch display while the older variant packed a 1.2 or 1.3-inch display.
Both variants use the same display tech and use an AMOLED display with the resolution clocked at 360 x 360 pixels.
The Galaxy Watch Active has ditched the rotary bezel of the older Galaxy Watch and has gone for a traditional round look.
It should be noted that the Galaxy Watch Active has a lower battery size than the older iteration. The older Samsung Galaxy Watch packed 270 mAh battery pack while the current variant sports 230 mAh.
It is also worth mentioning that the newest Galaxy Watch Active does not have any LTE variant which is expected to be added.
Galaxy Watch Active features coming to older Galaxy Watch
Samsung has released a software update that will many features of Galaxy Watch Active to older Galaxy Smartwatches.
The update will bring features related to fitness, a new user interface, improved tracking, and info gathering.
The health-related features include improved sleep tracking, alert on high heart rate, improved swimming mode.
The update will also bring a now allow a constant syncing of data to the Samsung Health app.
In the User Interface segment, the update will allow the watch to show a daily summary of workouts. The new update will also add new watch faces to the older variants.
Samsung is mulling to provide granular controls like Goodnight mode and toggle for waking the Watch on touch
There is no information about the release date of this Samsung Galaxy Watch update.
