Ever since the first Mayweather vs Pacquiao match, there have been demands for the two to face off once again. Pacquiao even openly challenged Mayweather once – but despite heavy speculations, the fight is yet to be announced.

Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman seems to be the most likely upcoming match for Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman to replace Mayweather vs Pacquiao?

Thurman is an ideal opponent for Pacquiao as his record of 29-0 (with 22 of those wins coming via a knockout) is quite impressive. Just 30 years old, Thurman is back after a two-year break and has defeated Joselito Lopez since his return. Up next, he might just be facing Manny Pacquiao.

If this match does happen, it would probably see Pacquiao as the underdog. Given that he is 10 years older than Thurman and towards the end of his career, Pacquiao would have to give this fight every bit of his energy.

Interestingly, the fight also means that we might never get to see Mayweather vs Pacquiao again.

Why is the Rematch Cancelled?

Given that both these superstars of the boxing world are over 40 now, this was the last chance they had at a rematch (or at least the kind fans would like to see).

With Pacquiao probably facing Thurman, that chance might be gone. While some claimed that their first match itself was a few years too late. A rematch now would probably be catastrophic as per the fans!
