Of late, there was a speculation that a rematch between the two may take place but today all hopes are officially crushed.

The biggest reason as to why the Mayweather vs Pacquiao rematch will never happen is because both of them are now in their forties and aren’t as agile as they once were. Moreover, Pacquiao just accepted another major match, against Keith Thurman. This match is likely to take place in July – and hence we will not get to see The Pacman take on Mayweather ever again!

It was earlier speculated that the two will face off against each other later this year but with Pacquiao taking on another high profile match, the possibility doesn’t look that bright.

While there have been instances where boxers have faced each other way into their forties, both these names are too big to do that. Moreover, Mayweather is now an entrepreneur while Pacquiao is now a politician in The Philippines. Given the lack of time and their increasing age, plus Pacquiao’s commitment to fight Thurman, the Mayweather rematch is likely never going to happen again!
