The producers and crew are already sending out their resumes. Even judge Katy Perry is ready to go back to focusing on her music career.

The show still seems to have a pretty good response from the fans on Twitter. Some of the fans tweeted about their favourite contestants after the last episode.

Is American Idol really coming to an end?

The numbers may not paint the true picture of the story. The singing show had a major win on Easter Sunday. It was the only show that made it above 1.0 rating.

American Idol had better ratings than several other shows, which air on Sunday and Monday nights. The Academy of Country Music Awards was the only show that had better ratings than American Idol.

The show’s ratings went down due to a particular episode where an in-depth look was taken at each contestant. As there were no eliminations, the show was less dramatic. So it might not be as enticing for the fans at home.
