Game of Thrones Season 8: Melisandre makes a prophecy
But before she did that, she met with Melisande for the last time. And the Red Woman said something that sparked a new spoiler theory all over the fandom. She told Arya,
“I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you’ll shut forever.”
Game of Thrones season 8 fans have since started discussing what that could mean. Blue eyes were already explained way when Arya killed the Night King. Brown eyes could be referring to Arya’s previous victims like Polliver and Ser Meryn Trant. But who could Melidandre mean by green eyes?
Who could green eyes refer to?
The most obvious answer is Cersei Lannister. The queen is said to have green eyes both in the books as well as the show. It could also mean Littlefinger, whom Arya murdered in Game of Thrones season 7.
It’s hard to say who exactly the prophecy refers to. All we can do is wait and watch. Catch the next episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 on HBO at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
