Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 just finished airing and this marks the conclusion of the epic saga that the show had been. Back when the first episode of the show aired in April 2011, only a few could have anticipated what a major mark this show would leave in pop culture. However, by the time it came to an end, most fans were upset with the direction of the show.
Let us take a closer look at the Game of Thrones finale and what the fans have been saying about it.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 Discussion: Disappointing Episode?
Fans were disappointed by the entire season right from the first episode. However, the finale of the show was expected to be grand – but that was exactly what it lacked. There seemed no grandeur in this last episode, and it was very underwhelming, visually as well as story-wise.
To add to that, spoilers about the finale of the show were viral on the internet. By this point, everyone knew that Bran Stark was going to be named the king at the end of the show and that Jon Snow will kill Daenerys. Furthermore, some even commented that the show was made to feel like a family drama by the end of it and many storylines were hurried up.
For those who want a summary, in this episode Daenerys orders Tyrion to be imprisoned, Jon Snow stabs Daenerys, Drogon flies away with her body after melting the iron throne – at the end of the show, Bran is named the king by a council of lords and knights.
Why is Game of Thrones Disappointing The Viewers of Late?
Given the show’s initial run, the first four/five seasons were consistently the best thing on TV, but it lost steam after season five. Fans attribute this to the fact that George RR Martin’s books provide great detail till the fifth season, but starting sixth season onwards, the show’s creative team has been using their story ideas, and hence the show seems underwhelming.
What Fans Are Saying About The Game of Thrones Finale
Fans expressed their shock, horror, and disgust at the way things came to an end on Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 over social media. Here are some of the comments that the fans have made over Twitter:
game of thrones season 8 is one of the most devastatingly disappointing things ever to exist I genuinely feel sorry for the actors that watched their characters get torn apart after so much good to bring them to where they were

So Jon sacrificed everything, he was the best man in the series, never did a bad thing, was the true heir all along, was a combination of House Targaryen and House Stark and yet he is sent to the Night's Watch? So disappointing and unfair. #GameOfThrones #JonSnow pic.twitter.com/JvHZRaFYBh

LOVED the Game of Thrones finale.
Overall show is FAR from perfect. Season 8, as a whole, was very disappointing.
That being said, I thought finale breathed well. Solid how it wrapped up. Strangely enough, S8 might be my least fav season since S2 but genuinely loved finale. ❤️

The disgraceful season 8 of @GameOfThrones where the storylines were badly rushed ended with the deeply disappointing and unexciting finale. It burnt the legacy of #GameOfThrones to ashes.
"When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die." Game of Thrones died miserably.
