Apple Watch 5 Update: Series 5 and watchOS 6 announcement possible at WWDC

Apple is expected to launch the newest iteration, Apple Watch 5 alongside the watchOS 6 at the WWDC.

WWDC or World Wide Developers Conference is an annual event hosted by the Apple where it unveils major software and hardware upgrades scheduled in the future.  The event will start from June 3 and end on June 7.

According to the recent reports that an announcement for the watchOS 6 is coming which will be critical for the next Apple Watch 5.

The main theme for the upcoming watchOS 6 and Apple Watch 5 is the health-related features and major changes in the apps.

App Store for Apple Watch 5

It is highly likely that Apple will launch an App store for Watch 5.

It would allow the users to install the watch apps directly on the watch. Apple has hinted in the past they are working to reduce the Watch’s dependence on the iPhone.

Apple Watch OS 6 brings the calculator on to your wrist

A report by Forbes claims that Apple intends to bring the calculator app on Watch 5 with its latest watchOS 6.

This could come in handy for some quick calculations while you are moving.

Improved Health Features

Even though the current Apple Watch has a lot of health-related features like ECG, Apple is not done.

According to the reports, watchOS 6 and Apple Watch 5 will bring the ability to track the glucose level in the blood of the user.

The company is also rumored to be working on an all new and improved sleep tracking technology. The Cupertino based tech giant has recently acquired the Beddit, a sleep tracking startup.

Price

We expect the Watch 5 to be priced around $400 for the non-cellular version. The LTE version of the Watch 5 might cost you $500.

Release Date

Considering the financial and critical success it is highly likely that the next Apple Watch 5 and watchOS 6 will be unveiled at the WWDC.
