UK Porn Ban: Who will be affected?

The UK Porn ban is aimed to prevent the damage it does to the people under 18. The government is planning to roll out a stricter age verification system. Essentially porn is banned for everyone who is not able to prove that he or she is above 18.

There is an outcry in the internet community about the freedom and privacy of the people.

UK Porn Ban: How will you prove the age?

There is no clear explanation about the implementation of the age verification system. However, rumors suggest that the authority tasked for this job is working with OCL.

OCL is a tech startup which has created the Portes Card which is touted to be used for age verification. Portes Card is going to be a printed voucher which will work with a companion app.

The Portes card will be available on all major retail stores as OCL has partnered with two payments companies to make a huge network.

So first users will have to download the app which will generate a barcode. The retailer will scan the barcode and then will ask for age proof. After the payment is completed users will receive a printed vouched with a 16 digit code.

This 16 digit code can be used in the provided app. When users will visit a porn website they can enter a code generated by the app move on.

To make their verification stronger OCL has partnered with the porn conglomerate Mindgeek.

UK Porn Ban: Bypass and Implementation Date

The UK Porn Ban will come into effect from July 15.  There are several ways to bypass this ban ranging from using a VPN to torrent downloads.
