Since the time Rey broke her blue Skywalker lightsaber, the fans have wondered how she will get it back in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. The unfortunate incident happened in a fight with Kylo Ren during Star Wars: The Last Jedi. How will Rey get a new laser sword in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker.

Even though she is not a Jedi, as a wielder of Force, it is important for her to build a new weapon. Rey actress Daisy Ridley was asked about it during Star Wars: Episode IX panel by host Stephen Colbert at Star Wars Celebration held in Chicago. Is there any way that the broken lightsaber can be fixed or will she have to build another one?

Daise Ridley cleverly said,
The lightsaber that Rey inherited from Luke lives.
Though she didn’t give away much, it felt as if the fans got some spoilers. A few minutes after that the first teaser trailer came out. In the trailer, Rey was wielding a lightsaber that looked exactly same as the previous one. Earlier leaks revealed that it is still blue and has a different design. This may indicate that there are some repairs made.

The shaft’s base and knob-like features on the opposite end the top and bottom of the entire handle are similar to Luke’s blue lightsaber. The plastic black strips at the bottom are exact same like it. The activation button is at the exact same position with a metal piece jutting out for extra protection above it.
