It’s been nearly 8 years since George RR Martin released his last book of the epic fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire. He is now working on the second last book of the series The Winds of Winter, which will be followed by A Dream of Spring.

George RR Martin has recently shared a teaser of the final two novels. This is the most information fans have encountered about The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring in several years now.
Unicorns in Westeros?
In an interview with Neil DeGrasse Tyson on National Geographic, Martin accidentally let it slip that he will be introducing unicorns to Westeros. He was talking about how fantasy authors tend to get the details about certain things convoluted.
“A lot of fantasy writers get horses all wrong,” he said. “They make them these tireless beasts that can go anywhere and gallop for seven days straight.”
He then went on to add that he has “an interesting take” on unicorns, which will be introduced in the upcoming The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.
No official release date
We are not certain if Martin was just joking around or if we really will see these magical creatures in the upcoming installments of the Game of Thrones books. When asked about when The Winds of Winter will be launched, Martin refused to give a particular date. “It’ll be done when it’s done,” he said.
For now, we will just have to wait and watch if there really will be unicorns running around in Westeros.
