Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3 is going to be brutal for all of us. The previous episode was kind of a warm-up. It showed several warm and fuzzy moments to prepare us for some gruesome and heartbreaking deaths in the next one. Of course, we do not know who is going to die, yet. And there is one person who is most likely to die in Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3 with high chances. And that is Theon Greyjoy. Let’s see how.
In the previous episode, the council gathered in Winterfell to discuss the battle strategy and positions. During that meeting, Bran Stark drops a truth bomb on all of them. He revealed that the Night King is actually coming for him. Bran said that the Night King wants an endless night to sustain. And since Bran is the three-eyed Raven and he will be the memory of the world, he becomes the primary target.
Jon Snow and Arya Stark suggest Bran to stay in the crypts where he would be safe. But, Bran says that he would rather stay in Godswood and be a bait for the Night King. That seems fine though since we have always seen Bran sitting near the tree alone, lost in thoughts.
How will Theon Greyjoy die in Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3?
Theon Greyjoy had arrived recently in Winterfell, where he pledged to fight for Sansa, for Winterfell. And he offers to protect Bran as his personal bodyguard with a few of his Iron-borne soldiers. That definitely seems like a penance for all the deeds he had done previously. After all, Theon had banished Bran and the others and forcefully taken Winterfell.
It is highly likely that Theon will die protecting Bran Stark from the Night King in Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3. And it seems a fitting end to his character too. Of course, it will be hard on all of us. The fans had begun with hating Theon to feeling bad for him and ultimately rooting for him get back on his feet. And he has used his chances to redeem himself. Firs,t it was saving Yara Greyjoy from the clutches of Euron Greyjoy and now it will be protecting Bran. And his death will serve as a sign that he dies a hero.
