Fan spoiler theories and predictions

Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3 is going to be 82 minutes long. And hopefully, we will get to see the Night King and his intentions would be a little clearer. So, in the meantime, fans have been trying to grab hints from previous episodes to predict the upcoming deaths. And some of them might have gone back to season 1 when Jaime had visited the North and met Jon.

There was a short encounter between Jon and Jaime in the second episode of the first season. Jon was getting a sword made and Jaime asks him if it was a sword for the Wall. Reminder: Jon was preparing to go to the Wall back then. He tells Jaime that he already has a sword. (He was getting one made for Arya). Jaime asks if he had swung it yet. Jon gets a little defensive and says, “Of course, I have.”

And Jaime then reveals to John that he was asking if Jon had used the sword on a person or not. The Kingslayer tells Jon that it just takes one shot to understand that a person is just a few sacks of meat, blood, and bone. Jon gets pretty traumatized after that. But, Jaime still wasn’t done.

What he said afterward might have some significance in Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3. The Kingslayer thanks Jon for his service in advance. And he said that he was grateful for the Night’s Watchmen protecting the people from many dangers. Of course, Jaime could have referred to just Jon’s joining in the Night’s Watch. But, it might also have meant Jon’s role in building an army against the army of the dead.

Will Jon emerge to be the one true hero who dies protecting his people in Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3? Only time will tell.
