Game of Thrones Season 8 deaths: List of all the characters who died in episode 3

The most heart-breaking episode for Game of Thrones season 8 titled, “The Long Night” just aired and as we feared, it brought death in the family. Battle of Winterfell was Dark and Bloody and a lot of our favorite characters died heroically or brutally.

Is your favorite character safe or he died, or he is back as an undead? We have tried to prepare a list, although a lot of random extras and soldiers died, the major characters to face death are:

Dothraki Horde on an Open Field

The Dothraki’s were the first one to charge at the Army of Night King. Powered by The Lord of Light’s fire from Red Woman they attacked and tried to trample the dead army, but soon their fire Vanished and all of them died.

Ser Beric Dondarrion’s Final Death

Ser Beric Dondarrion has already faced death 9 times, but this time there was no resurrection. He fought heroically to save Arya from danger and died a Hodor death while holding the door for the Hound and Arya to escape.

Theon Greyjoy as a Hero

Theon Greyjoy was the real hero of the episode, he was protecting Bran single-handedly till the end. He kept fighting till his last breath and even charged at the Night King, only to die at his hands.

The Bold and Brave Mormont Family

Lyanna Mormont though a small girl, is one of the fiercest warriors in Game of Thrones. She slew a Giant before he crushed the life out of her.

Ser Jorah Mormont was terribly injured in the beginning, but he kept fighting and fighting till his breath. He died protecting Dany, who fought alongside him for a few moments.

Night King is also Gone

While many people were imagining it to be Bran or Jon Snow, it was Arya Stark who killed the Night King. She took the advice of the Red Woman and sneak attacked the Night King, improvised and dealt the final blow with the Valerian Dagger provided by Bran.

The Red Woman’s Goodbye

The Red Woman aka Melissandre was the one who bought the light and fire to this episode. She served her purpose, removed her magic necklace and died while walking into the light.
