Doctor Who Season 12 Air Date, Spoilers, cast, LGBTQ+ character to return

Ever since its beginning in the 1960s, Doctor Who has introduced several changes in the style and conception of the show. Some of these changes include introducing a new female Doctor and adding an LGBTQ+ character.

First LGBTQ+ character in Doctor Who

Doctor Who season 12 Pearl MackieBill, played by Pearl Mackie, was the first LGBTQ+ character in the franchise, and it was about time. But fans of her character were disappointed to see that she didn’t return in the 11th season.

More bad news awaits fans as sources have revealed that she will not be returning in Doctor Who season 12 either. In an interview with Radio Times, she said, “I still feel quite close to Bill. I need to miss her before I want to play her again.” However, the good news is that she did not completely dismiss the idea of returning in the show ever again. So there is certainly hope that we will see her again in the upcoming seasons.

First female Doctor

jodie whittaker Doctor Who season 12Another giant leap forward for the show was the introduction of a female Doctor for the first time. The 11th season of the show saw Jodie Whittaker as the 13th doctor. Whittaker will also be returning as the doctor in the next season of Doctor Who.

The official Twitter handle of the show recently tweeted that filming for the 12th season has begun and Doctor Who season 12 will return to BBC One in the first half of 2020.
