X-Men Dark Phoenix is going to be the 11th part of the X-Men journey. Also, it is going to be the fourth part of the second generation which started with First Class in 2011.

What is X-Men Dark Phoenix release date?
X-Men Dark Phoenix is finally going to release on 7 June 2019 in the US and the UK. The movie was scheduled to release in November 2018. Then it got pushed to February 2019 and now it is finally set for June.
Simon Kinberg, the writer/director of the movie said that the delay was due to the re-shoots. He said that they liked the release date to be 14 February, but their visual effects were not ready.
Who is cast for the movie?
X-Men Dark Phoenix is going to bring back a lot of the original X-men cast. James McAvoy is going to return as Professor X, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. And Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner will play the role of Phoenix. Apart from them, Nicholas Hoult is going to play the role of Beast. Alexandra Shipp will be Storm and Tye Sheridan as Cyclops.
Apart from the originals, there will be some new faces too. Kota Eberhardt is going to play the role of Selene Lotus. And Andrew Stehlin will be portraying Red Lotus. Daniel Cudmore and Lamar Johnson are also going to be in the movie but their roles are still unknown. Cudmore previously used to play the role of Colossus.
Jessica Chastain will also have a role in Dark Phoenix. She will play a shape-shifter villain who will cross paths with Phoenix.

Who is the director of the Dark Phoenix movie?
Simon Kinberg is the director of X-Men Dark Phoenix and this is his directorial debut. He has previously worked as a writer in xXx: State of the Union, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Fantastic Four and Sherlock Holmes (2009). He has worked with the X-Men franchise since 2006 and has written for X-Men: The Last Stand.
X-Men Dark Phoenix Plot
The official synopsis of the X-Men Dark Phoenix reads that in this movie the X-Men will have to face of their own. Which is Jean Grey. Grey gets hit with a powerful cosmic force and this not only makes her powerful but also unstable. She gets out of control and hurts the ones she loves most.
So, the X-men must find a way to unite to save Jean and defeat the aliens who want to weaponize Jean and take over the world. This movie will be set in the 1990s and it will set the timeline correct. Because First Class was set in 1962, Days of Future Past was set in 1973 and Apocalypse jumped to 1983.
X-Men Dark Phoenix Trailer
The trailer for the movie was released back in September 2018. It gave us a glimpse of Chastain’s character. It also showed us bits from Phoenix’s childhood and how she tried to control her power.
The trailer also showed a funeral and mutants in a spaceship. Overall, it gave the vibe that the movie would have a darker tone.
There was another new preview which showed Jean getting more powerful and making the other mutants concerned.
